Worship Service Reminder & Encouragement
Dear Congregation,
In all of the uncertainly this week, we want to assure you that we will be meeting this Sunday night at 6:00PM at Laurelglen Bible Church. I will be preaching on Psalm 24, and it is a sermon I’ve been looking forward to all Summer. I hope to see you there.
I also want to encourage us all to stay engaged in some form. I realize that some feel free to come and attend in-person and some of you, for a myriad of reasons, cannot attend in person at this time. Whichever situation you are in, I humbly plead with you to stay engaged as the church body. It has been, and will be, easy to drift away and get into the habit of not attending or watching the service. Please fight the drift. We are exhorted in Hebrews to not neglect meeting together (Hebrews 10:25), and I hope and pray that we will continue to stay engaged both with the services and with each other. We NEED to worship and praise and pray and hear the preaching of God’s Word. We are doing our best in these most difficult and uncertain days to help you with these things through on-site meetings and online video recordings. I pray you will continue to feed your soul on God’s Word and use this opportunity to continue to grow in your faith.
As you may have also heard, the school district has decided to suspend all in-person classes for at least the first quarter of the school year. We are not exactly sure what that means for us, but we are expecting to not be back at the school until at least sometime in October or November. While that is most certainly not our first choice, we are extremely grateful for Laurelglen and their hospitality. What we are hoping for and praying towards is that the attendance restrictions will be lifted so that we can all be together again and regain some stability in meeting, even if in a different location. We realize it has been difficult not knowing what to expect from Sunday to Sunday.
We love you, we miss you, and we pray that we will all be back together sooner rather than later.
